Safety Programs to Protect Children
Child Rescue Network is changing the way parents protect their children from sexual predators. Our “Empowerment Not Fear” Program shares the need to get away from the scare tactics of Stranger Danger and instead educate parents and children about how to recognize potentially dangerous situations, give specific action plans when possible. The program stresses the importance of empowering kids with confidence, an understanding of personal boundaries along with creating and maintaining open lines of communication.
As part of our “Empowerment Not Fear” Program, our Safety Compass – Abuse Prevention Workshops provide in-depth education for parents and children. These workshops are held in partnership with schools and churches and are held over multiple weeks to teach important concepts like establishing open lines of communication, understanding personal boundaries, building proper assertive confidence in our kids and much more.
Our Safety ID Programs provide parents with the single most important tool needed to help locate a missing child. CRN frequently participates in community events where we weigh and measure kids, take a thumbprint and photograph and give parents a laminated Safety ID Card to put in their wallets.
We also partner with Ident-A-Kid Services of America and corporate sponsors to provide Safety ID Cards online.
These valuable tools save lives and can help quickly reunite a lost child with his family. Imagine yourself in a crowded store, mall, theme park or fair or festival, when you notice your child is not there. The last thing you want to do is say, “let me go home to find a picture”.
We encourage you to use the camera on your cell phone to take a picture when entering such scenarios so that you’ll have what they are wearing as well as that up-to-date photo available to share. Obtaining Safety ID Cards provides that addition information and serves as a backup so that you never have to waste a moment while trying to find your child.
